Naming Ceremonies

The birth of a new baby into the family is a time of great celebration.

One way to signify the importance of such an occasion is to publicly celebrate with a Naming Ceremony.

A Naming Ceremony is a way to welcome a new family member into the family, local community and wider world. It is also a way to celebrate the arrival of your baby and publicly acknowledge that you accept the responsibilities involved in raising a child.

Your family and friends have the opportunity to share in your joy and will also appreciate that their involvement in the ceremony and the baby’s future life, will contribute to the baby’s development.

The creation of your child’s Naming Ceremony is carefully discussed and formulated according to your wishes. The ceremony may include music, poetry, rituals (such as candle lighting), blessings, family history or any other element that you, as the client, consider will create a memorable and meaningful occasion.

You may wish to involve Guardians, God-Parents or Grandparents in the ceremony and their involvement can be a significant contribution.

After a substantial interview to determine your exact wishes, I will write the ceremony for you and before presenting the ceremony, will thoroughly check that it is as you want.
